The Support-Bot

To make the life of the ops and admins at the support-channel a little easier the Stats-Bot was replaced with the Support-Bot. This bot comes with a bunch of new features and commands.

1. The FAQ-Commands:

.faq [Command]
This command let the bot output the FAQ-text for the given command.

.faqlist
With this command you get a link to a full list of the stored FAQ’s with their commands.

.faqinfo
This shows up a short help for the FAQ-script

2. The web-frontend:
Beside the IRC-based side of the FAQ-script their is also a web-frontend for easy insert / edit / delete of the FAQ’q at the database. This frontend have it’s own user-system, so only approved user can use this like ops, admins and some other helpers.
Both, the script and also the frontend, are working with a MySQL-database as storage.
At the moment the layout of the frontend is really simple but we are working on that.

3. Additional commands:

.inv [Nick]
Shows up link to deactivated inventory for the given nick.

.actinv [Nick]
Shows up link to activated inventory for the given nick.

.his [Nick]
Shows up link to transaction history for the given nick.

.market [Nick]
Shows up link to the market items for the given nick.

.pro [Nick]
Shows up link to the forum profile for the given nick.

.shop [Nick]
Shows up link to the shop for the given nick.

.ip [Nick]
Shows up link to the login history for the given nick.

Beside all the new features the Support-Bot also does the stats for the support-channel.

So, as most of you know, hopefully anyway, wibbles has been deleted. None of this “moved or hidden” stuff, DELETED. Now that’s out of the way,

I’m Solax, reporting here from ground zero of the wibbles destruction. Elerk has been very quiet the last 5 days following wibbles’ destruction by Avwave. The basis behind the deletion is that due to an overpopulation of trolls, the indigenous species of Elerk (who’s natural habitat happens to be wibbles) started leaking out into the wider community. The recent new board, Offtopic, must have looked enough like wibbles to start a migration.  With wibbles, the only natural habitat for trolls gone, they will resort to overrunning the next best thing.

(Fun fact. every second, an area of wibbles the size of a football field is cut down for civilized discussion!)

Muur interviewed Nikita for an expert opinion on the mater.

Muur: Hey Niki
Nikita: Hello Mr. Muur
Nikita: What crazy shenanigans do you have in store for me?
Muur: All right, so we all know you were somewhat of a main figure in the Wibbles, eh?
Nikita: I suppose I’m a fan favorite
Muur: Anyways, how has it affected you since the board was deleted?
Nikita: Well honestly, I’m not very proud of this but Wibbles was the only place I posted and really the only entertaining place for me to post
Nikita: It feels as if my home was swept away
Nikita: I’m not very upset about it though
Nikita: It was starting to go to shit with every new rule added and nobody ever tried to follow the rules we enforced
Nikita: So I guess it was just a matter of time
Nikita: They already tried to overhaul Wibbles twice
Nikita: It was fun while it lasted though
Nikita: I don’t have any regrets really
Muur: Does this give you hopes for a re-instated wibbles in the future?
Nikita: No, not really
Nikita: I don’t have much hope for most of the member of this community
Nikita: Members*
Nikita: It would be the same
Nikita: Retarded bullshit
Nikita: That I grow to love

Muur: Are you surprised by the fact almost no people have really complained about its deletion?
Nikita: Not really
Nikita: It was beginning to become less enjoyable every day
Muur: What were the reasons?
Nikita: The facts that nobody would ever create oc, follow the rules or even try to be entertaining
Nikita: it became a shithole
Muur: What was your first thought when you saw that wibbles had been deleted?
Nikita: “what”
Nikita: Then overcame a feeling of sadness
Nikita: then it went away
Nikita: I still have a place in my heart for wibbles though and I always will
Nikita: back in it’s prime it was very enjoyable
Muur: Have you found any substitute to make up for the lack of Wibbles(4chan, etc.)?
Nikita: I don’t like to associate wibbles with 4chan, I like to keep a little more class then that
Nikita: Me and the members of #c3 have started administrating an alternate website
Nikita: basically a wibbles copy
Nikita: Maybe it will take off and be successful
Nikita: maybe it won’t
Nikita: time will tell

Clan Link

This clan has been around for some time now. Its not a really old clan or anything, but its certainly not new. I thought it was time we show some appreciation to the old, fun clans that are around, not just the new ones that we are all so used to. Personally, i am close friends with this clan, and i have known to love them (although it wasn’t too hard ;D). This clan is full of fun loving Toribashians, so come take a look into the great clan of C3. The leader is one of the few women in Toribash, Glow! We are close friends so i decided to grab an interview with her.

It goes without saying that the Toribash community is full of trolls and generally hateful/negative people. Most people troll back or leave the forums due this burden. But some people, like link8, leader of the Peace Circle, rolls with the punches and continues to spread his positive message. I got a chance to interview him about this.

 

 

Explain to me what your Peace Circle represents

Well, people will always have a hunger for trolling and insulting. Do you think a place like wibbles did the community justice by giving people an outlet for there trolling/negativity?

That being said, does it bother you that wibbles is now gone?

How do you know this? There are so many boards to manage. Do you really think people would cease to troll just because there isn’t a designated place to do it?
